Great news from the most recent North West Drupal User Group is that this year will see the first Drupal Camp North West!
It's to be held at Media City on the 24th and 25th of November and should be a great weekend. Unfortunately I didn't manage to get to DrupalCon this year so this will be a great chance to catch up with what's new in the Drupal world.
At the moment there's no official site but you can keep up to date with all the announcements by following @DrupalCampNW or by signing up to the mailing list.
